Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Development Manager to join our global Product team. Reporting to the VP of Product, the successful candidate will have ultimate responsibility for code written by either McLarens or on our behalf by 3rd parties.  The Enterprise Software Engineering Manager will have responsibility for setting coding standards, assuring code review, contributing to application architecture, participating in feature design, automation testing, source control, participation in release management, etc.   They will also manage our internal developers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage a small team of developers with various skills
  • Interact with product to understand “why” they want to build (the problem it will solve, or the opportunity it will generate)
  • Liaise between product, developers, solution architecture and infrastructure to determine “what” to build
  • Collaborate with developers to determine “how” we plan to build it
  • Participate in and influence application architecture
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues as they arise
  • Set and assure development standards are maintained
  • Assure a strong software development lifecycle
  • Uncover, assess and report on risks to timeframes, costs, security, system up-time, performance and data integrity etc.
  • Deliver on time and on-budget high quality solutions

Required Experience & Skills:

Required

  • Significant development background
  • Explicit experience with Enterprise Applications, cloud products, SaaS platforms, multi-tenant environments, and emerging technologies
  • Experience with software development platforms such as Azure DevOps
  • Experience setting up code repositories & pipelines
  • API experience
  • UI/UX experience
  • Experience in Agile methodology and Scrum
  • Experience with issue and project tracking software, such as JIRA

 

Advantageous

  • Development management
  • Experience with ReactJS, c#, Java, Mulesoft, and/or SQL Server
  • Experience with authentication and authorization (i.e. SAML, B2B, B2C)
  • Experience with legacy development technology; WPF, .Net, etc.
  • Experience with distributed teams
  • Experience with 3rd party development teams
  • Knowledge of insurance and claim
