POSITION:   Business Development Coordinator

Position Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Coordinator to join our team. This nonexempt role focuses on outreach to potential new customers while supporting the overall business development process. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of the insurance industry and excellent communication skills to engage with new prospects and build lasting relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Outreach & Engagement:
    • Initiate outreach to potential clients in the insurance industry through calls, emails, and social media, fostering relationships and presenting company products/services.
    • Qualify leads, respond to inquiries, and schedule meetings or follow-ups for the business development team to discuss tailored solutions.
    • Support initial customer contact by providing product and service information to prospective clients.
  • Lead Generation & Market Research:
    • Assist in identifying target audiences and generating new business opportunities through research into potential clients within the insurance sector.
    • Monitor competitor activities and industry trends to support the development of outreach strategies.
  • Sales Support:
    • Help prepare client-facing materials, such as presentations, proposals, and follow-up communications.
    • Manage lead data and activities in CRM systems to ensure accurate tracking of prospects and timely follow-ups.
    • Support sales campaigns designed to attract new leads and convert them into potential clients.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Assist in tracking outreach activities, customer interactions, and lead conversion metrics to provide regular updates to the business development team
    • Help coordinate webinars, virtual events, or other outreach initiatives to engage prospects and support lead conversion efforts.
  • Administrative & Reporting Support:
    • Support administrative tasks as needed, including coordinating meetings, preparing reports, and updating CRM records.
    • Prepare and submit Weekly Report and GMT Submissions
    • Actively maintains memberships in industry-specific organizations as applicable
    • Manage Outlook Calendar/Teams invites and scheduling of events and meetings
    • Collaborate with Marketing department on setting up social media content for LinkedIn/Website prior to day of event
    • Utilizes and manages CRM tool to keep all client information up-to-date and all activities current
    • Maintains and executes corporate reporting needs
    • Attend BD Team meetings
    • Logging/tracking expenses
    •  Oversee customer retention campaigns in the CRM system, analyzing and reporting results to leadership.
    • Engage daily with customers and follow up with potential prospects.
    • Participate in industry events to generate and pursue new client opportunities.
    • Coordinate RFP responses and other client deliverables for new business prospects as needed
    • Support the renewal process by gathering and providing relevant documents.
    • Assist with loss-run requests as needed.
    • Conference and event coordination. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1+ year of experience in customer outreach, sales, or business development, ideally within the insurance industry or a similar field.
    • Familiarity with insurance products, terminology, and industry dynamics is preferred but not required.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect with prospects and convey value propositions clearly.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Proficient with CRM systems and basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
    • Detail-oriented and able to maintain accurate records and reports.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated to take initiative.
    • Proven track record in customer service and client retention.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, virtual platforms, Canva, Constant Contact and CRM databases.
    • Knowledge of commercial Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance principles a plus.
    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Additional Information:

  • Work Environment: This is a remote position with potential travel for business events
  • Compensation: TBD
  • Overtime Eligibility: As a nonexempt role, this position is eligible for overtime pay based on hours worked beyond 40 hours per week.
