Summary

McLarens is seeking an experienced National General Casualty Adjuster for a designated region with the ability to travel as needed. The Casualty Adjuster needs to be able to work under minimal supervision resolving general liability losses by investigating and negotiating adjustment of losses. We are looking for an exceptional and resourceful problem solver, proactive thinker, and self-starter.
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly examine claims forms, policies, client instructions, and other relevant records to accurately determine coverage for complex casualty claims, ensuring alignment with policy terms and conditions. 
  • Review and analyze complex financial data, inventories, contracts, estimates, and third-party reports to assess the full extent of losses covered under the applicable policies, applying advanced adjusting techniques. 
  • ​Direct and collaborate with experts across various disciplines (e.g., legal, medical, forensic, engineering) to thoroughly investigate losses, validate claims, and accurately estimate damages. 
  • ​Prepare comprehensive and accurate damage estimates, supporting documents, and detailed reports to convey the total loss, considering all components of the casualty claim. 
  • ​Formulate and implement strategic plans to resolve large casualty claims in a cost-effective manner, including managing time element losses and complex exposures. 
  • ​Assess situations where litigation or subrogation may be appropriate and work closely with legal teams to ensure effective resolution of disputes. 
  • ​Provide leadership, guidance, and training to junior adjusters, sharing expertise and offering advice on complex claims. Oversee the work of other adjusters, ensuring best practices and compliance with company standards. 
  • ​Assist in developing new business opportunities, leveraging deep knowledge of casualty claims to cultivate client relationships and expand market presence. 
  • ​Ensure all claims are handled in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, maintaining the integrity of both the claims process and the company's reputation. 
  • ​Maintain all required state adjuster licenses and certifications, staying current with changes in laws, regulations, and best practices. 
  • ​Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations (DOO), including special project work or client-specific needs. 

Required Experience and Skills

•    4-year college degree preferred.
•    4-5 years of commercial and residential property claims experience. Would change this to 5-10 years of commercial and residential general liability experience
•    2+ Change to 5+ years handling and managing complex commercial large losses. Change to general liability and casualty losses.
•    Appropriate state adjuster license(s).
•    National claims experience.
•    Experience with general liability losses, product, contractors, and reinsurance preferred. 
•    Established Broker/Carrier relationships.
•    Experience with commercial and residential ISO policies including manuscript interpretations.
•    Proficient knowledge of Xactimate or other estimating platforms. Not needed
•    Knowledge of the independent claims adjusting business to include familiarity with local jurisdictional requirements and claim practices.
•    Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
•    Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
•    Ability to plan and prioritize.
